As a Resident Assistant (RA), it is important for student leaders to ensure a successful academic year for those who live on campus.

Fostering a community among residents allowed me the opportunity to host and facilitate events around diversity, social/political causes, and professional development. Through events and initiatives created and led by myself, residents had the opportunity to network and make the most of their experience while residing on campus. Some of the events included dialogue around politics, our human rights, professional development opportunities, and fun networking nights. Residents were also given the opportunity to be validated and celebrated through 'Resident of the Month' initiatives.
